+1 - I'd love for us to switch to Matrix. It's about time.

-1 - I am sorry but I see a lot of value in having them as-is.
#ubuntu-release is the one I'd expect _at least_ the Ubuntu Release
team (ubuntu-release) and Ubuntu Archive team (ubuntu-archive) to
monitor closely and for others to get help from them. Any other Ubuntu
related discussions should happen on #ubuntu-devel or elsewhere.

It does but that's not enough. I expect few people to actively monitor
what's happening with their Release and AA hats on and if there's
heavy traffic, that becomes hard. I can go on and on but TL;DR is -
please have them separate; use #ubuntu-release to reach out to Release
and AA teams and for the two teams to coordinate and collaborate
around the milestones.
