Hi everyone, Ubuntu has been carrying a patch for plocate that adds an --ignore-spaces option. I forwarded this patch to upstream and got a quick response from upstream: He is aware of the desire for accent-insensitive search, but it is hard to do in a correct and performant way, since the rules are heavily locale-dependent and updatedb does not know at build time what locale will be run under. He does not consider the mlocate-ported patch to solve enough of this problem to be worth it. So I decided to drop this patch in Ubuntu 27.04 (tenacious). Upstream's recommendation is to use regular search instead and then fixup afterwards with grep if needed. -- Benjamin Drung Debian & Ubuntu Developer -- ubuntu-devel mailing list ubuntu-devel@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel
